Tullopy Charitable Giving: No Equity, No Strings. Just Backing First-Time Founders
We’re opening a new way to support the founders who need it most. This program is available exclusively to members of the Tullopy community.
The announcement: Tullopy is launching a charitable giving and grants program for entrepreneurs in our community. No equity taken. No repayment expected. No strings attached.
Who This Is For
This program is open only to active members of the Tullopy community. If you’re not yet a member, join the community first. Once you’re in, you’re eligible to apply.
Our Pledge
This isn’t an investment, and we want to be clear about that up front. We’re not taking a stake, a board seat, or any future claim on your company. If we choose to support you, the support is a gift, full stop. Our only return is watching a founder build something they couldn’t have built without it.
What We Believe
We believe the earliest, scrappiest stage of building a company is also the hardest stage to fund. Traditional capital wants traction. It wants warm intros and a track record. First-time founders often have neither of those things, not because their ideas are weaker, but because they simply haven’t had the chance yet.
We started Tullopy to back the founders the rest of the system is built to overlook, starting with our own community.
Our Focus: First-Time Founders
This program is intentionally narrow. We’re focused on first-time founders within the Tullopy community: people building their first real company, often without a network, a co-founder with a prior exit, or capital to fall back on. If that’s you, this is for you.
A founder may be a beneficiary of this program only once, except where the Tullopy board approves an exception.
What to Include When You Apply
Email us at charitablegiving@tullopy.com and include:
- Confirmation of your Tullopy membership. Let us know how you’re connected to the community.
- Who you are. A few sentences on your background and why you’re building this.
- What you’re building. A plain-language description. No jargon required.
- Why it matters to you. What problem you’re solving, and why you’re the one solving it.
- What you need. Be specific: funding alone, or funding plus something else, such as mentorship or intros?
- Proof of motion, however small. A waitlist, a prototype, a first customer conversation. Anything that shows you’re already moving.
Keep it short. We’d rather read five honest sentences than five paragraphs of polish.
What to Expect After You Apply
We want to be upfront about this: we don’t have the capacity to respond to every application.
We read everything that comes in. But given the volume we expect, we’ll only follow up with applicants we believe are the right fit for this round. If you don’t hear back, it isn’t a reflection of your idea. It’s a reflection of our bandwidth.
If we do reach out, it’s because we saw something in what you’re building and want to help you push it forward.
Timing and Funding
There’s no application deadline. We accept applications on a rolling basis.
Funding amounts vary depending on the community’s bandwidth at any given time, so we can’t commit to a fixed range. What we can commit to is reviewing every application against that bandwidth in good faith.
Apply
If you’re a first-time founder and a member of the Tullopy community building something real, we want to hear from you.
