  • Posting Guidelines for Startup Ideas

Posted by Chris on March 15, 2025 at 2:41 pm

Startup Ideas is a space to share business ideas you’re excited about but won’t pursue yourself. Gift your concept to the community for someone else to bring to life—no strings attached! Use this template to keep it simple, clear, and inspiring.

    Idea Posting Template

    Title:
Give your idea a catchy, descriptive name (e.g., “RentEasy Hub – A Tenant-Friendly Rental Solution”).

    Problem:
State the issue your idea addresses in 1-2 sentences. What’s the challenge?
Example: “Tenants in Nigeria face high fees like agent and caution costs when renting annually.”

    Solution:
Describe how your idea solves the problem in 1-2 sentences. What’s the fix?
Example: “A platform cuts fees with free listings and deposit insurance, making renting affordable.”

    How It Works:
Outline 3-5 key features or steps in short bullet points. How would it function?
    Example:

    • “Landlords list properties free, no agent fees.”
    • “Tenants pay annual rent with flexible installments.”
    • “Legal costs only if you hire an attorney—otherwise, free contracts.”

Who It’s For: Who’s the target audience? Keep it brief.
Example: “Renters tired of high fees, landlords seeking simplicity.”

Why It’s Cool: Share what excites you about it in 1-2 sentences. Why should someone build it?
Example: “It slashes tenant costs by 70% and rethinks renting with fairness and flexibility.”

    Execution Hint:
If you’ve got a quick tip for making it happen, add it (1 sentence).
Example: “Start in a high-rent city and partner with legal tech firms.”

    Guidelines

    • Keep It Open: Share an idea you won’t pursue—it’s a gift for anyone to use, no permission needed.
    • Stay Brief: Aim for 200-300 words total. A title plus a few sentences per section is perfect.
    • Be Creative: Wild, practical, or niche—any idea is welcome as long as it sparks inspiration.
    • Focus on Impact: Highlight the problem, solution, and who benefits to show why it’s exciting (e.g., tackling high rental fees).
    • No Obligations: Don’t expect credit or involvement—let the community run with it!
