Hopefully, established content creators have some form of specialized digital creator insurance, as a TikTok ban could severely disrupt their revenue streams. I’ve recommended this type of coverage to some creators in the past. For brands relying heavily on TikTok for revenue or lead generation, those with business interruption insurance might start reviewing their policies to determine if they can make a claim. However, it’s unlikely to hold up, as standard business interruption insurance (BII) typically doesn’t cover losses from non-physical events like platform bans. BII policies are generally designed to address physical damages caused by events such as fires, natural disasters, or similar incidents, not digital disruptions.
