Is content marketing the same as copywriting?
No. Copywriting is the act of writing the persuasive or descriptive text for advertising or marketing a product or service. On the other hand, content marketing is a strategic approach focused on creating and distributing valuable, relevant, and consistent content to attract and retain a clearly-defined audience — and, ultimately, to drive profitable customer action.
Think of it this way: copywriting is about getting people to buy something; content marketing is about getting people to want something. The goal of content marketing is not to sell but rather to inform, educate, or entertain people so that they might come back later – as customers – and buy something from you.
